While Sydney-based photographer Sam Yeldham normally focuses his lens on brilliant scenes of the harbor city during sunset, he wound up shooting his first wedding photo in the spur of the moment. Completely by chance, Yeldham captured some gorgeous images of a mystery couple as a storm began to roll in.
According to Yeldham, he was shooting a time-lapse at Bradley’s Head when he ran into a newlywed couple and their wedding photographer deciding whether or not to take some photos while it was drizzling. Luckily, the rain cleared for a brief 15 minutes, during which both photographers nabbed some quick shots. Yeldham captured a breathtaking photo of the bride and groom standing on the pier, half-illuminated by the golden rays of the setting sun as stormy clouds gathered overhead.
Now, in addition to the portraits that their wedding photographer took for them, the newlywed couple have even more photos to commemorate their special day—all thanks to a lucky meeting and the power of the internet!

The couple’s official wedding photographer, Olivia Corbett of Liv Style Photography, also captured some beautiful shots of the newlyweds.
Unfortunately, the couple left before Yeldham could get their names and contact information. To find his mysterious subjects, he turned to the internet. Three days after he posted the photo on Instagram, the photographer made contact with the couple. The groom, Chris, is currently on his honeymoon in Hawaii with wife Jess, but he reached out to Yeldham on Instagram after a friend of the couple’s saw the photo and tagged him in it.
